Overview

1971

Skip and Annette Emerson purchase a Dunhill Personnel franchise and immediately set out to become leaders in the staffing industry in South Jersey and Philadelphia. The Emerson’s and Dunhill of Cherry Hill quickly become one of the areas most recognized recruiting firms for administrative support personnel.

1975

Skip and Annette become one of the first franchisee’s to introduce temporary staffing to the Dunhill system.

1976–1989

Growth accelerates significantly and the once small family operation consistently leads the nation’s franchise system in revenue generated.

1990

A second generation of the Emerson family joins the business when Bill Emerson is hired as an Executive Recruiter.

1992

The best staffing specialist in the region, Denise Tocco, joins the team.

1998

Annette retires and Skip begins to transition away from the day to day operations. Bill steps in as President.

2000

The family presence in the business grows when Steve Emerson and his wife Mary Emerson join the business. Steve focuses his responsibilities on business development and Mary takes over as office manager.

2001

The Emerson family decides it is time to become independent from the franchise and Dunhill of Cherry Hill becomes Emerson Personnel Group.

2008

Emerson recruits industry sales veteran Flo Ryan to lead sales team.

2010

Steve Emerson nominated as Consultant of the Year for the Delaware Valley HR Person of the Year Awards. Karen Olt Miller joins Emerson Group as the Production Assistant, then later as the Executive Assistant to the President and our Marketing Associate.

2011

Industry veteran Judey Napoli joined the team on our temporary division side. Emerson Group is recognized as Best of Biz for Administrative Staffing.

2012

We welcomed two new team members, Kathy Fitzpatrick as our Business Development Associate and Gregg Podolski who is now the Manager of the Direct Hire division.

2013

EMERSON GROUP OPENS AN OFFICE IN CENTER CITY PHILADELPHIA hiring expert Lynn Fraser Schratwieser as Director of Business and Development and Susan Commisso as our recruiter with over 15+ years industry experience. We also welcomed to the Cherry Hill office, Kara McGonigle, who is our Production Assistant. Emerson Group was recognized by South Jersey Biz Magazine for Best of Biz for Executive Search.

2014

It was a busy year as Emerson Group was recognized by SNJ Business People Readers’ Choice for HR & Staffing, South Jersey Biz Magazine Small Business Award for Recruiting, Philadelphia Business Journal’s Best Places to Work (small business division) and lastly Bill Emerson was nominated for Consultant of the Year by Delaware Valley HR Person of the Year!

2015

In 2015 Kate Sigman joined the team and is our Payroll Associate. Emerson Group is a finalist for the Smart CEO Cornerstone Awards which recognizes company’s for their impact on their community.

Emerson Group continues to be recognized as one of the premier staffing and recruiting firms in the Greater Philadelphia region.

2016

Started off this year in our NEW office located in Moorestown NJ. Laura Rubba joined the team as our new receptionist.  Kara McGonigle was promoted to Recruiter and was also honored in South Jersey Biz’s 20 Under 40.  We celebrated our 45th year in business with a ribbon cutting and open house in June!  This year we were also recognized at the SmartCEO Family Awards and attended the Delaware Valley HR Person of the Year awards to support Flo Ryan’s nomination for 2016 Consultant of the Year.
